Background

The Leitch Review of Skills was commissioned by the Government in 2004 to consider the UK’s long-term skills needs. The review found that the UK’s skills base is weak, when compared to other countries, which holds back productivity and growth.

There is a direct relationship between skills, productivity and employment and unless the UK’s skill base is substantially improved, UK businesses will find it harder to compete. The UK needs to become aggressively competitive in the global economy and this will require investment in improving the skills of our workforce.

Learning Support

accross Business Solutions is committed to providing comprehensive and effective learning services for students. This enables individuals, with appropriate support, to access their programme of learning and achieve their potential. The Learning Support Service arranges individually negotiated packages of support in addition to the support that your tutor gives in individual and group tutorial sessions.

Equality and Diversity

accross Business Solutions is committed to the active pursuit of an equality and diversity policy which addresses the need and right of everyone to be treated with respect and dignity, in an environment in which a diversity of backgrounds experience is valued.  It aims to ensure that all staff and students whether existing or potential receive fair and equal treatment and to counter any attitudes and behaviour which deny opportunities to people simply or primarily because of their:

  • Gender
  • Marital status or domestic responsibilities
  • Race, colour, ethnic or national origin
  • Religion
  • Age
  • Disability/learning difficulties
  • Sexuality
